13-06-2009: New website online, old forum got spammed to hell so unfortunately i was forced to add those guess-what-letters-are-hidden-in-this-image checks (if you are just as skilled at solving them as i, good luck)...
16-09-2007: Another feature added on request: there is now an option to automatically pause the timer after each blindraise, this allows you to finish the current hand before starting the timer again.
27-06-2007: New feature added on request: you can now start/stop/pause BlindRazer using a hardware button of your choice, feature can be set in the "Settings" menu item.
15-11-2006: New version of BlindRazer is released, please note it is (and probably always will be) a beta version and bugs may be present, if you find any, please report them through here or on the forum.
New version is slightly different from the old one, especially entering a blind structure is now sort of a b*tch so make sure you do that in advance :)
BlindRazer is a poker clock designed to run on a Pocket PC (Windows Mobile). It's function is to keep track of the blinds (small-blind, big-blind and ante) during a poker-tournament (i use it for texas hold'em home tournaments).
Although quite a few of these 'tournament directors' already existed, at the time there were none for the Pocket PC (PDA) (well, i couldn't find them anyway) so i decided to write one myself.
BlindRazer's features currently include:
- Adding, deleting and editing the blind structures (now also including breaks)
- Setting the period of time a blind level should last (for each level)
- Custom or standard sound notification when a blind level ends
- Saving default blind configuration (which will be loaded on startup)
- Display of the current blinds/antes
- Display of time until next blindraise
- Display of total elapsed tournament time
- Stopping/starting/resetting the blinds
- Automatic standby prevention
- Set blind time while running (for instance to speed things up)
- Start/stop the timer using hardware buttons
- Auto-pause the timer after each blindraise
If you ‘miss’ any features, try requesting one through here or on the forum.
To run BlindRazer you need a Windows Mobile (should work on PPC2002 to WM6) Pocket PC (PDA), it does not run on smartphones (and probably never will) because of the small screen size and lack of touchscreens.
Current download version is v2.03, should work on most Windows Mobile PPCs (tested OS versions from 2002 to WM6) but if you run into problems, let me know. You can download either the .CAB version (install from pocket pc) or the .exe (install from pc over activesync)
Note that BlindRazer is and probably always will be a BETA, as i don't heve the means for extensive testing, i therefore take no responsibility for any harm done to your pc/ppc!
BlindRazer 2.03 beta .CAB (104kb)
BlindRazer 2.03 beta installer .exe (65kb)
A few important notes with regards to using this software:
- When using the prevent standby feature, make sure you have a full battery before starting a tournament. :)
